Around SalamancaIf you actually go to visit Salamanca, ought not to focus exclusively on the city, which is marvelous, but also worth the villages around. As an example, I strongly recommend approach and spend the day visiting La Alberca.

Also known as Valdelaguna is located in the southern province of Salamanca. The particularity of its streets and homes do, which is a must for tourism. One of the main attractions of this area is the diversity and beauty of its surroundings. On one side you can see granite, slate and quartzite mixed with a variety of vegetation savage the other hand the beautiful and lush forests of oaks, chestnut, pine, walnut, apple and almond.

All your Traditional houses are made of granite and stone. Formerly, the ground floor served as a stable for animals and the kitchen was on the first floor. On the second floor were the rooms. The attic used it to cure and dry the meat, cheese and cured meats (hams, sausages and pork). The roofs have a hole, so that the cooking fumes can back up out. Many of the homes have large balconies laden with flower pots. Pool’s main street is flanked by doors made of granite and wood.

The most important holiday is the Virgin of August, 15 August, the Assumption of Mary. The festival takes place in the streets. Its inhabitants are of actors on that day, they masquerade as angels and demons and play a role. The colorful costumes invade the town and everything is tinged with gold and silver. In Easter is the festival’s Day Drink Water or Monday, which the council calls on all people to make the appetizer.
