This is the second or last part of the first article, entitled Egypt: The most fascinating journey of your life (part 1)
Aswan, one of our first destination, is the southernmost city of Egypt. It is located about 100 kilometers south of Cairo, the ultimate destination that will end our trip and will return back to Spain. Aswan is known in our time as the place he learned to hypnotize and conquer the greatest mystery writer of all time, Agatha Christie. Here he found inspiration to write some of his novels.
Surely you also inspire visiting some of its essential parts. One is the High Dam, a popular prey over 3600 meters long built between 1960 and 1970 who hides behind a peculiar history. South of the city we will run into the Temple of Isis at Philae was built during the third century before Christ. Not to any church but to the regarded as the last bastion of religion and the Egyptian hieroglyphic writing. Other tourist attractions of Aswan is the unfinished obelisk and the Main Market, the Grand Bazaar style.
In Kombo Ombo you can continue enjoying the magic of the sacred temples of Egypt, as enigmatic and sublime never tire of looking at them. This time you can visit the temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus. Although some parts are in ruins its beauty will mesmerize you. Visit your yard and interior rooms will be an unforgettable experience.
Our next stop is the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Its facade is imposing. If you have the possibility, before embarking on your journey, rather than viewing a photograph of yourself check its size, scale and beauty. You’ve never seen anything like it. In Luxor, more specifically in Esna, pass known as “cross lock” and the temples of Luxor and Kaarnak. The latter is dedicated to the feline goddess Sekhmet. Legend has it that “the statue of the Goddess Seth Meth is magic, it seems alive and not be photographed. While waiting to cross the passage of dozens of street vendors lock loaded with silk, Egyptian cotton and other items come to you.
The icing on this delicious cake puts the city of Cairo in which you have the privilege of admiring the unique wonder of the ancient world that is preserved on the planet: the Great Pyramid of Giza. Until the nineteenth century was also the world’s tallest building just passed today by the Cologne Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower.
In Egypt, besides visiting all these amazing places, you will live a thousand and one just starting to experience another culture, meeting interesting people or tasting exotic cuisine. When you finish your trip just to thank you for having the opportunity to experience an adventure of such dimensions. Perhaps it will be useful to learn this word in Arabic: “Sukran”. You’ll be repeating. What are you waiting to begin this journey? It will be unforgettable.
